Asheville, NC | Our Cozy Cabin Weekend

Time has flown by and I just realized I haven’t posted a travel blog post since Puerto Rico! We are gearing up now for our Christmas break travels, but I wanted to circle back around and share one of our most recent trips. The weekend before Thanksgiving we headed to Asheville, NC with two of our closest friends. We loved Asheville SO much when we went for my birthday weekend and knew we wanted to visit again. You can find that blog post here with tons of other Asheville recommendations. We opted for a cabin this time around and it was perfect! Sharing the details of our cozy cabin weekend in Asheville below.

Where We Stayed

We booked Agern Cottage for our weekend getaway and loved it! The cottage is located in Fairview, NC but was only approximately 15 minutes away from Asheville. We loved the cozy chic vibe of the cottage, and it was also exceptionally clean. The host was wonderful and even left us some local drinks and snacks in the refrigerator. The cottage has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen with an array of appliances.

What We Did

During our first stay in Asheville, we made a day out of visiting the Biltmore Estate. I definitely recommend doing that at least once! The prices are slightly higher during Christmastime, so we decided to skip it this time around. The main activity that we planned for over the weekend was the LaZoom Comedy Bus Tour. It was a hit! My husband and I had our first comedy bus experience during a weekend in Charlotte and we loved it. This time was no different! It’s a 90 minute bus tour through the city and contains a mixture of historical information and entertainment. Beer and wine are allowed on the tour and the bus makes a quick pitstop at a local brewery. It was a super fun experience that we highly recommend!

Where We Ate

My previous Asheville post has a list of restaurants that we recommend, and several of them we had to visit again because they were so good! For breakfast, Biscuit Head is the way to go. Their biscuits are huge! On our last morning there, we also stopped by the cutest coffee shop in the River Arts District. Ultra Coffeebar has a wide range of coffee, breakfast, and lunch options. We love trying out different breweries while in Asheville, but my two favorites are definitely Wicked Weed Brewing Pub and Funkatorium. They both have super unique beers, great bar food for snacking, and a chill atmosphere that always ensures a great time! They also have dog friendly outdoor patios, as do many places in Asheville. 🙂 We also checked out Bold Rock Asheville and enjoyed some appetizers while we tried a flight of cider. We didn’t get into Sierra Nevada Brewery this time (make sure you reserve ahead of time) but that is definitely on our list for next time! Last but not least, if you’re looking for a trendy spot for dessert you definitely have to check out Crave Dessert Bar! The S’mores platter was so fun!

There’s so much to do in Asheville that it’s impossible to do everything in one weekend! But it’s definitely one of our go-to places for a fun weekend away from home. Whether you stay in a hotel downtown or a cozy cabin on the outskirts of town, you really can’t go wrong with nice places to stay in Asheville. There’s something to do for the nature lovers, history buffs, beer connoisseurs, and everyone in between. After only our second visit here, I can confidently say that we love Asheville and are already looking forward to going back!
