I jokingly shared about trying out the middle part a few weeks ago. But I have to admit I really like it, and I’ve been styling my hair like this a lot more often lately! One thing I’ve paid more attention to over the past few years is hair care. I’ve always had very fine and thin hair, but I realize now that weighing it down with unhealthy products wasn’t helping at all! I’ve tested out products from various clean beauty brands and narrowed down my top picks. I’m sharing below the hair care and styling products I use, plus a few other products from my favorite brands.

Hask
Of all of the brands I’m sharing, Hask is defintely the most cost friendly! I buy my products from Amazon, but you can also shop them at Walmart and Target. I am currently using Hask’s Biotin Boost Shampoo & Conditioner. I’ve been using it for several months and I really like it! It doesn’t make my hair feel greasy after washing like some others have in the past. I also use the Biotin Boost 5-in-1 Leave In Spray after I wash my hair. This spray thickens, provides heat protection, prevents breakage, controls frizz, AND detangles. Lastly, Hask’s Charcoal Dry Shampoo is my absolute favorite! I’ve tried other brands and they’ve been good too, but I always end up going back to this one. It makes my hair feel instantly less oily and it smells great.
Navy Hair Care
Another environmental friendly, clean beauty brand I love is Navy Hair Care! My current favorite of their products is their Whirlpool Argan Oil and Green Tea Powered Styling Foam. After I wash my hair, I let it air dry some and then I add this styling foam before I blow dry it (using my Revlon Hot Air Brush). My hair is way shinier with less flyaways when I use this product! I never used to like wearing my hair straight, but after I started using this styling foam I love my straight hair! Navy Hair Care has just come out with a new Styling & Thickening Cream that I’m excited to try. Lastly, I’ve also used their Dry Shampoo & Dry Texture Spray. They’re great products, but they aren’t the ones in my current lineup.
Living Proof
Once I tried Living Proof’s Dry Volume Blast there was no going back! This stuff smells amazing and is super lightweight, but it gives my hair the most texture and body. And the volume lasts all day! Just give your hair a little tussle with your fingers throughout the day and it poofs back up. I also love their Flex Hairspray and Control Hairspray depending on what type of look I’m going for (again, super lightweight). I actually took the Hair Quiz on their site and I’m really interested in trying out some of the other products they recommended for my hair type. I typically buy from Amazon for the convenience, but you can also shop directly on their site or at other retailers such as Ulta.
Olaplex
Last but not least, Olaplex! With every other hair wash, I use their Repairing Treatment. You leave this in your hair for 10-15 minutes before washing to repair damaged hair and broken bonds. I also absolutely love their Bonding Oil! I was always scared to use oil in my hair because I thought it would make it greasy, but that is not the case! Throughout the week, I typically sleep with my hair in braids to give it a natural, wavy look. But waking up in the morning, my hair will look a little frizzy. Applying a few drops of this to the ends of my hair works wonders! It decreases frizz and makes my hair look super shiny, soft, and healthy. Olapex also has a shampoo and conditioner that I’ve heard great things about, but haven’t personally tried.
If you’re looking for new ways to treat and style your hair, I hope you found this post helpful! A few final tips that I’ve learned that help with my hair:
- You can train your hair to be washed less often! That’s what I did and now I only wash 1 or 2 times per week.
- Sleep with your hair in braids for a natural, wavy look! There’s also tons of neat tutorials out there for heatless curls, but I haven’t had the chance to try those yet.
- Make sure your products are free of sulfates, phthalates, parabens, etc. that weigh your hair down!
- Sleep with a silk pillowcase – this is great for your hair and skin!
