My husband and I started brainstorming ideas for our honeymoon almost as soon as we started wedding planning. My #1 tip for planning your honeymoon is to start early! We knew we wanted to do something different since this would be a once in a lifetime experience. Visiting Greece was high on both of our bucket lists, so we initially thought about just going there. In the end, we decided to take a Costa Cruise and I’m SO glad we did! On this 1 week cruise we were able to see Venice, Bari, Corfu, Mykonos, Santorini, and Dubrovnik – much more than we would have been able to see had we not taken a cruise. I’m highlighting below the top 5 reasons why I recommend taking a cruise for your honeymoon!

- The Convenience: The best part about taking a cruise is the convenience of getting to visit multiple places without having to book hotel accommodations at each place.
- The Food: Not only do you not have to book a hotel, you also don’t have to worry about what you’re going to have for breakfast or dinner. We had breakfast delivered to our room each morning so we could eat quickly before our excursion, and we ate dinner each evening at the Albatros Restaurant, which served a 4 course meal specific to the place we visited that day.
- The Excursions: Planning what you’re going to do at each destination is also so easy on a cruise! There are several choices for each place that range from relaxing on a beach to doing something adventurous. We planned all of our excursions before we left so we knew exactly what to pack for. We learned so much on the excursions from the tour guides that we likely wouldn’t have on our own.
- The Entertainment: Every night after dinner we would go to some type of show in the theatre. The performances included dancing, singing, acrobatics, and magic – and they were all fantastic! There were also events on the deck on certain nights. No matter how tired we were after our long day, we never wanted to miss what was happening on the cruise that night!
- The Views: The views when traveling from place to place on the cruise were breathtaking! Seeing the sun rise and set over the ocean was simply amazing. We also loved looking at the landscapes as we began to arrive at each place. We would have missed out on all of these sights had we flown directly to each place.
