Our last stop on our honeymoon cruise was Dubrovnik, Croatia. When we first booked this cruise, I was so excited about Italy and Greece that I didn’t think much about Croatia. Let me tell you – it’s a hidden gem! It’s so beautiful and definitely should be talked about more. If you ever get the chance to visit, don’t pass up on it! Sharing below the highlights from our day spent in Croatia.

- Views from the top of the city: You can climb the steps of almost any side street to get this amazing view from the top of the city! It’s crazy to think how much this country has been through and how far they have come. They did not gain their independence from Yugoslavia until the 1990’s, and much of the city was destroyed during the war. Only 30 years later the city is a beautiful travel destination that many cruise ships stop at.
- Games of Thrones filming locations: If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, you may recognize a lot of places in Dubrovnik (AKA King’s Landing). This was the main filming location for GOT. My husband was a little bit more into the show than me (I became interested in the later seasons). So he couldn’t pass up on the iconic photo ops such as the famous steps and the Red Keep gate. This was a very cool factor of the location!
- The water: Not only were the views from the top of the city amazing, but the water was so beautiful! Dubrovnik is along the coast and surrounded by water. The water was crystal clear and made for amazing pictures. I wish we’d had enough time to kayak there, but definitely on a future trip! We traveled about 30 minutes south of Dubrovnik to the small town of Cavtat. It was even more of hidden gem than Dubrovnik. Walking alongside the water through this small town was amazing. We even saw a lot of yachts parked along the water, which was surprising. But after some research we learned that a lot of celebrities visit this secluded location.
When you’re able to plan your next dream vacation, definitely keep Croatia in mind! I would love to go back one day and spend more time there. My jumpsuit from that day is from Express, but it’s a few years old so I can’t link it. My shoes were from SHEIN and were actually very comfortable for walking in!
