One thing that we put a lot of time and thought into during wedding planning were our save the dates and wedding invitations. I knew that these items are the first impression guests would have of our wedding. Needless to say, I wanted them to be perfect! We also had to consider how we would send our guests who lived out of the country their invitations (which is where the electronic part comes in later). I am sharing everything we used for our wedding invitations below!

Print Invitations
We ordered our print save the dates and invitations from Basic Invite. They have SO many templates that are fully customizable with over 180 color options to choose from. I loved that because I could choose the exact shades of our wedding colors. They also allow you to order samples for only a few dollars. We went with the Timeless Script Save the Date Cards in luxe velvet linked HERE and the Illustrated Corner Wreath Wedding Invitation in signature matte linked HERE. Our envelope colors for both were gray cotton and the texture of them was amazing. Our details and rehearsal cards were also from Basic Invite. They even have wedding website templates to match your wedding invitations. The addressing on the front of the invitations was done by me with my Cricut – see how I did it HERE.
Electronic Invitations
With the large majority of my husband’s family being from out of the country, it would have been very complicated and expensive to mail them our wedding invitations. We knew they would appreciate them just as much receiving them electronically. With Greenvelope, we were able to design a save the date/invitation using the same picture as our print save the date. It was SO easy to use. I also loved that we received a daily report of who opened our invitations, and we were able to resend them to those who hadn’t. We were also able to link the invitation directly to our wedding website where people could RSVP. Greenvelope has many designs to choose from, or you can create you own like we did. This is a very creative and cost effective way to send wedding invitations! Get started on yours HERE.
Personalized Features
Personalized postage stamps: I love these custom postage stamps from Minted! This is one thing we didn’t personally use, but seriously considered it for a while. If you have a little extra budget to use on invitations, I think this adds a nice personal touch. Don’t think the small details of your wedding go unnoticed. I was pleasantly surprised that so many people complimented me on our invitations! One important thing to note: if you want to buy custom postage stamps, you must buy them before June 9th, 2020. Personalized stamps will be discontinued in the U.S. after June 9th, but they will still be accepted. So this is truly your last chance to order them! Minted has SO many designs to choose from and you can even use your own picture. Click HERE to get your personalized stamps. They also have a lot of great invitation options linked HERE.
Personalized Return Address Stamp: This was the best $20 I spent for our invitations! We used these return address stamps on the back flap of all of our invitations. I love it for a number of reasons – one being that the fonts are super cute and similar to the ones I was using on the front of the envelope. I also love that this is something you can continue to use long after your wedding (assuming you still live at the same place). If so, it’s a great investment! I am linking it for you HERE.
