I’m sitting here watching the last of the North Carolina snow melt away while thinking of the warm weekend we spent in Miami just a few weeks ago. We traveled to Miami for the wedding of two of our closest friends and had the best time! Although the weekend was quick, it definitely deserves a permanent spot on the blog! Sharing below the details of our weekend plus the wedding guest dress that had me receiving tons of compliments.
Where We Stayed
When I say the weekend was short… I mean flight leaving at 5 am the next morning short! For that reason we wanted to stay at a hotel near the airport and ended up choosing Hotel Colonnade Coral Gables. This hotel was so cute! We enjoyed the outdoor pool area while waiting for our room to be ready, and they even welcomed us with a bottle of champagne. I loved the location as it was about 10 minutes from the airport, but also within walking distance to the nicest outdoor dining area. We walked over to a sushi spot for dinner and really enjoyed it– KAE Sushi by Chef Landa.
Wedding Details
I was so honored to get ready alongside the bridal party the day of the wedding. My hair and makeup turned out perfect! For hair I asked for a voluminous ponytail and she delivered. My makeup was bronzy to match my spray tan with soft pink blush and lip.
Now let’s get to what you’ve all been waiting for… THIS DRESS! When I say I received compliments all weekend, I’m not just saying that. I truly felt so beautiful (and comfortable) in this gorgeous dress! It’s from Mac Duggal and you can find the link here. As I’ve gotten older I’m looking forward to spending money on quality items that can be reworn for years to come. So this dress is definitely a worthwhile investment in my opinion. The flowing layers of tulle make it a stellar choice for any warm spring or summer wedding. Even though this wedding was in January, it was held at Vizcaya Gardens and guests were encouraged to dress in spring colors, so this was perfect!
We are so happy for our friends and thrilled to have been able to spend their wedding weekend with them in the warm and sunny city of Miami!
