I am sharing our engagement story today because Valentine’s Day will be 2 years since my husband proposed! The proposal was amazing because I honestly had NO idea it was happening that night. Still to this day, I can’t believe he pulled off such a big surprise!
So it was Valentine’s Day of 2018. My husband asked me to pick anywhere I wanted for dinner that night and I picked Moe’s Southwest Grill (lol) . It’s one of my favorite places and I thought the nicer restaurants might have a long wait. And again, I had no idea he was going to propose that night.
After getting home from dinner, he asked me to take our dog Sunny out. I thought that was a little weird because he would typically take her out at night. At this point, I thought he might just be doing something special for Valentine’s Day.
When I came back inside, he had set up our room with rose petals, champagne, and candles… and he was down on one knee! I immediately just started crying until he asked me if that meant yes. It was so special with just us getting to enjoy that moment together. Fun fact: I only bought him socks for Valentine’s Day because I didn’t think we were doing big gifts!
We took our engagement pictures about one year before our wedding date. The amazing Suzanne Clark Photography took the pictures! We actually had them taken at the place we met which was special for us. Of course, we couldn’t have a photoshoot without our Sunny girl! She did so good!
We also had the privilege to shoot an engagement video with Single Story Film – the videographer we hired for our wedding. I’ve seen engagement videos growing in popularity lately and I love it! It was the most fun day shooting it in Downtown Raleigh. It turned out amazing and shows our love so well!
